UFFS State of the Union Update Sept 17, 2021
UFFS Community,
Here’s what has happened in the last month in the UFFS world, and what’s coming up next.
Things are moving quickly for our project and we have many new friends and partners joining the ecosystem every week. Meeting new people and seeing their faces light up when they truly understand the UFFS vision is the most rewarding part of what we do.
UFAFL Realignment Auction
The franchise realignment auction was a great success. The auction took place online and all 32 teams were sold and realigned. The teams were named and branded shortly after the auction and we are very proud of the modern look of the UFAFL professional fantasy football league.
The Ultimate Fantasy American Football League kicked off it’s inaugural season on September 9th. The 32-team, 53-man roster franchises also participated in hugely successful Rookie Auction, Draft, and Futures Auction. The UFAFL welcomed in 64-NFL rookies via auction as teams spent over $281,000 USD worth of SCO. 96-college football prospects were also auctioned off in September, raising over $81,000 USD worth of SCO.
More exciting news on the football front as the innovative game simulation NFL legends league — The American Football Legends League (AFLL) — will hold its 32-team franchise auction Oct. 20–22, 2021.
On the 22nd, Head of Football Operations Andy McNamara and NFL great Eric Metcalf will host the final hour of the auction live from the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on AOSports TV.

UFAFL Draft/Rookie auction and prospect auction
The auction was followed by possibly the most extensive draft in fantasy sports history. The teams drafted full 53 man rosters over three days. The teams put in up to 12 hours per day. It was an amazing show of commitment from all our owners and now the rosters are set.
UFBA Franchise auction
Now, on to Basketball. Alex Leblanc, (UFBA Head of Basketball) has been working extra hard to get things in place for this historic fantasy basketball franchise auction. The auction is set for the weekend of September 24th and it will be held virtually on Innovation Island.
Innovation Island is a project that UFFS is utilizing with our partners AOSports, Chip In, Pixel Bird and FanCentric. We have been bringing on big names from the basketball world, from influencers to basketball stars.
Innovation Island is a great addition to the UFFS digital ecosystem. We are very excited for this unique event.

Sept 28- Oct 6 — Discussions around implementation of luxury tax leading to a vote before drafting.
October 8 @ 8pm EST — first 3 rounds of Vet draft
October 9th @ 1pm EST — finish Vet draft
October 12–15 — Already Drafted Auctions
October 16th — Roster Cut Down Day, Waiver Auctions begin
October 17–18 — Waivers process
October 19 @ 2pm EST Roster compliance for season start.
The UFBA also made a major announcement! Rashad Phillips as a UFBA Ambassador and Franchise owner takes the league to a new level. We are very excited to build and grow the world’s first professional fantasy basketball league together with Rashad and his team.
UFLB
The baseball season is wrapped up in the push to the playoffs where the 10 best teams will take the stage in October and November, trying to win the World Series. While the best MLB teams try to win it all, franchise auctions in the Ultimate Fantasy League Baseball will be taking place November 5–7!
On Thursday, the UFLB scoring system was revealed, giving potential owners a look at how they will be competing and allowing them to formulate a draft and franchise auction plan. Every UFLB franchise will have a player attached to it for the November auctions. The 25-player draft will take place March 5–6, 2022, with the Top Prospects and Futures auctions slated for March 26–27, 2022.
UFLB is very close to announcing their first Baseball Digital Athlete NFT and league Ambassador, as well as releasing the Rule Book and Owners Package for all future owners, potential General Managers, and Scouts.
UFHL
The Ultimate Fantasy Hockey League has been busy hosting offseason Owners Meetings throughout August and into September, with the franchises helping determine the direction of the league through a voting process. The agenda items have ranged from tweaking the scoring system to expanding the total roster size to adjusting the playoff structure, among other discussions on how to improve the league and better mirror the NHL going forward.
The offseason has also produced several new partnerships that will take the UFHL to the next level by providing value added tools and perks for UFFS users. PuckPedia is developing cap pages for UFHL franchises and Virbela’s virtual world now includes UFHL headquarters on Innovation Island with every franchise having access to their own office. Another trophy and custom jerseys are also in the works to add more realism and bring the league to life.
UFFS hockey also announced preliminary plans for the World Juniors and Olympics — both men’s and women’s — with franchise auctions slated for November and January, respectively, to launch dynasty leagues based on those international events.
DAO Structure
A committee consisting of myself, David Kleinsasser, and Cole Bablitz have had preliminary meetings with multiple groups to structure the UFFS DAO. This is an important part of UFFS’s future and we will keep everyone up to date on the progress.
Staking/DeFi/NFT Marketplace
The staking and swapping mechanisms are complete and we will have them live on testnet next week. As we mentioned earlier, there is a large backlog in the industry to get audits completed and we are working through that process. We are hoping to see our DeFi available in October, but again, we are at the mercy of third party auditors.
NFT Marketplace
Our tech team is working diligently on the UFFS NFT marketplace. We are on pace to launch the Ultimate Athlete NFT marketplace in October. Our first athlete NFTs will consist of some of our biggest stars to date such as Cris Carter, Michael Vick, Ryan Malone, Eric Metcalf, and Walt Harris. We have many more star athlete announcements in the hopper that we will be bringing to the community in the not too distant future.
