Ultimate Franchise Fantasy Sports has made another key addition to their operations staff, hiring Stefan Hoffman as Head of Golf and Franchise Acquisitions.

Hoffman, a realtor by trade with a passion for sports and a penchant for sales, will oversee the upcoming launch of the Ultimate Fantasy Golf Association — with the UFGA Franchise Auction now only two months away, slated for March 8–13 during THE PLAYERS Championship, one of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour.

“With the popularity of golf at an all-time high and the decentralized world growing at a rapid pace, I think this is the perfect time to launch the UFGA,” said Hoffman. “The framework will be similar to other UFF Sports leagues, but it will be an exciting challenge, as this is the first individual sport to launch as a dynasty league with franchises, full rosters and protected lists.”

Stefan Hoffman is Taking on the UFGA

Hoffman will be bringing on a UFGA commissioner and a director of golf scouting to manage that revolutionary dynasty league and handle those daily duties, while focusing his efforts on recruiting potential franchise owners for the UFGA and facilitating sales across all the sports and leagues within UFFS. Hoffman will be connecting with interested ownership candidates and trying to find the right fit for them.

“This was the perfect opportunity to apply my decade of sales experience with my passion for sports,” said Hoffman. “The goal here is to provide interested ownership groups with all the necessary information on franchises and the UFF Sports platform, to ensure a smooth transition and to set them up for success. This will ultimately improve the quality of every league and strengthen the overall UFF Sports community.”

Originally from Regina, Saskatchewan, but now located in West Kelowna, British Columbia — a golfer’s paradise in Canada’s Okanagan Valley — Hoffman is excited about the potential for the UFGA and UFFS as a whole. He can’t wait to watch the fantasy pros tee it up and is looking forward to getting the real world athletes — past and present — involved as well.

“I want to make it a priority to get the athletes involved early in the process,” he said. “This will attract more die-hard golf enthusiasts and make it the most realistic and competitive fantasy league around.”

The UFGA was initially announced last spring and the UFFS golf community has been growing ever since through weekly contests on Telegram — predicting the results of PGA events. The UFGA Rulebook and gameplay plans are still being finalized — including the number of franchises and the roster sizes — but Hoffman will have a strong support staff, including UFFS founders Andrea Charanduk and Nathan Bender, who have been heading up golf operations to date in addition to their hockey roles as commissioner and director of logistics, respectively. They will bring Hoffman up to speed on all things golf and help him transition into this leadership role.

“We are excited to have Stefan taking over the reins for the UFGA,” said Charanduk, who helped recruit Hoffman. “As longtime friends, we are confident that his abilities, commitment, and professionalism will take this league to the next level!”

Following the UFGA Franchise Auction, the new owners will get right to work on branding and preparing for the UFGA Draft on April 4. Gameplay will commence April 7–10 with The Masters as the first major of 2022, which will be a shortened inaugural season for the UFGA — culminating with the PGA Tour playoffs throughout August, then resuming with a full season starting in September.

“The UFGA is going to have gameplay that is unique to fantasy golf,” said Charanduk. “It will be the most in-depth, detailed gameplay that will challenge even the most experienced fantasy golf players. This is the future of fantasy!”

All roads lead to The Masters in the coming months, but Hoffman is already thinking big picture and planning long term. He’ll be doing his part to ensure the UFFS vision comes to fruition, bringing savvy sales skills and management experience to the UFF Sports team. Hoffman came highly recommended with a relentless work ethic, dedication to growth, and a results-oriented mentality.

“It is a great opportunity to be part of an incredibly innovative and unparalleled platform. The UFF Sports platform is visionary, generating an undeniable synergy of fantasy sports and blockchain technology,” said Hoffman. “UFF Sports will forever change the fantasy sports world and I’m looking forward to being part of the movement!”

Mass adoption is the ultimate goal and Hoffman will have a hand in making that a reality. While the scarcity of franchises creates an exclusiveness that drives valuations, it is important to be inclusive and all-encompassing in the recruitment process.

“UFF Sports has a very diverse platform that allows participation on a variety of levels. You can be everything from a fan to a franchise owner and everything in between,” said Hoffman. “It is the most realistic fantasy sports experience, as it gives you full access to all the roles that come together to operate a professional team and the business strategy required to build a successful franchise.”
